I was born and grew up in India. I studied philosophy at the University of Manchester, then Corpus Christi College, Oxford, and then the University of Reading, completing my PhD in 2000. I joined Heythrop College, London, in 2001.
Alongside my work at Heythrop, I am Honorary Reader in the Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at University College, London, teaching on their MSc Theoretical Psychoanalytic Studies. I am currently a member of both the British Philosophical Association’s Executive Committee and the Institute of Philosophy’s management committee.
I have worked extensively in writing supporting materials and offering training for A level philosophy: www.alevelphilosophy.co.uk.
