Eddy Nahmias

Eddy Nahmias teaches in the Philosophy Department and the Neuroscience Institute at Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia.  His research focuses on human agency: what it is, how it is possible, and how it accords with scientific accounts of human nature.  He writes about free will, the nature of mind, and moral psychology and examines how the sciences of the mind impact these philosophical issues.  He also does some "experimental philosophy," which involves asking ordinary people what they think about philosophical issues.  And he enjoys teaching and talking about all kinds of philosophical questions, which he tells his students are the ones that children tend to ask–all derivatives of "Why?" and "Why should I?"
